Aditi Sowmyanarayan is an award-winning writer, blogger, and autistic self-advocate. At just twenty years old, she has already established herself as a powerful voice for autism acceptance and disability inclusion. Her debut novel, Thus She Rose, opened at No. 1 in Amazon US New Releases. Her latest young adult novel, Feet on the Ground, Head in the Air, launched on July 14 and has been warmly received by readers across India, reaching No. 1 in Amazon India's Hot New Releases in Young Adult Fiction. Her fiction novella, Gobble Thy Prejudice, won the Best Manuscript Award at the JK Author Awards Season 4 (2022–23), presented by JK Paper and The Times of India. Her short story collection, Small Stories, Big Thoughts, was published in 2023 to positive reader reviews. Aditi writes for Avaz Megaphone, India Autism Center, and Sol's Arc, advocating for greater awareness and inclusion of non-speaking autistic individuals. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Institute of Neurodiversity (ION) Global and has presented at the United Nations World Autism Awareness Day observances in 2023 and 2025. She also contributed to the NALSAR committee report on accessibility that informed the Supreme Court of India's landmark November 2024 judgment on accessible spaces. Aditi is a YLAC Artivist Fellowship Fellow, recipient of the Tata Steel Foundation's Sabal Changemaker Award, and was recently recognised by Deccan Herald as one of its 15 Changemakers for 2026 for her work advancing awareness and acceptance of non-speaking autism.
